Photos from what quickly became one of the best gatherings of the year before it even had a chance to get started. There are 87 photos in here, so expect some loading. Each and every single photo here is shared in its original resolution, so, enjoy if you find something you'd like to snag.
I rode with my friend in his S2000 to a meet-up for cruising over and parking together at Coffee and Cars. His is the one that is to the yellow S2000 CR's right.
You'll probably notice that the CR has a soft top and my friend's S2000 has the hardtop. They both decided to trade their tops and had it done by the guy who drive this sweet ass S2000:
It's that white one, sitting pretty with an ASM body kit and has the power to match the looks.
Six S2000s showed up and at 6AM we all left to snag 6 spots to park next to each other. It was the first time in about two years the organizers decided to not allow coning off spots. They did away with it since it wasn't fair to those who arrived first and couldn't park in reserved spots. So it made for some interestingly mixed parking, instead of everybody parking next to cars that were the same brand or model as theirs.
Who arrives the earliest? The answer is always the American cars, but nobody arrives early AND together in swathes like the Porsche owners do.
The all-new GT3.
Accompanying it, the very recent Turbo.
As well as a GT2RS. The Porsche dealership in town has sold 6 of these locally so far, it's ridiculous. At one point there were four on the lot.
4 458s showed up, possibly more. These guys rarely ever come out, but seems like they've finally taken a liking to the gathering.
That striping on the grille is always a nice touch. Too bad it wasn't a 1M though.
Wild Scirocco appears!
Lots of Shelby Cobra replicas gather here every month.
As of January, I see a C7 at least once every few days now. They're getting played out so quickly for me...need a C7 Z06, stat!
It should be noted that at least 15 Z06s and 10 ZR1s coddle up together every month here.
An Underground Racing Gallardo...I'm expecting to see it at TX2K.
A 458 Italia Spider's interior.
10 NSXs managed to make it out to this gathering, which was the highest turnout of NSXs I'd ever seen. 8 of them managed to park together, 2 were delegated a few parking spots away.
An Aventador Roadster with interesting red interior. Next to it is another UGR Gallardo.
Dealership cars, lulz.
Classsssssicccccccc
A Quattroporte...
Another C7!
This Aventador Coupe was scouring the venue for parking.
Here are potato pics for cars that weren't captured by my friend and the camera he was borrowing from his workplace...
Dat M Sport gang.
Two of Mayday Garage's members came out to the gathering in their highly identical RX7s. One sports a wing, aggressive headlights and its original Rotary engine, where as the one that seems to be wearing an RE Amemiya badge is puttering around with a 2JZ.
Black Series...
Times two.
Times THREE!!!!

Will you be doing a similar story for TX2k this year ?

'74 RSR tribute. Nice!

Wow, what a great turnout! Too bad I live nowhere near Houston... My local C&C is nowhere near as big, and sadly my Saab 9-3 doesn't add much either :P

I showed for the Dallas c&c and the cold wind really put a damper on it. Lot was only half full and everyone was leaving by 10. And the only other Fiat there moved away after I parked next to her. Bah.

Great pics though! I follow the C&C page for Dallas, although I wish they had a photographer like we do down here so I could see all the nice cars that make it out.

That stinks! Well, the city's a part of one of the largest metropolitans in the nation and the car culture here ranks nearly as high. Saabs are pretty neat though. I don't think anybody really shows up to the show in one...

That's awesome, what color Z should I look out for? And yeah, I'm really hoping I can get out to TX2K this year, most preferably the night meet.

Thanks, all credit is to my friend who took the shots. He had a very capable camera on hand. :D

This is most likely the explanation!

Oh, it had stripes! I guess it's maybe hard to see at first glance :(
![]() 01/08/2014 at 19:13 |

Okay, now I see them across the top. (Duh). I especially noticed the side view and it doesn't have stripes on the sides at the bottom.

Yeah, it'd be sweet to know what showed on days I couldn't make it.

wow crazy awesome. Still doesn't explain how he plated that beast (must have been brought in as a kit or something odd), but good for them for bringing it to the US

About a quarter of the cars/owners leave at 10. Some of them (read: me) have to get to the lot no later than 7am or the lot will fill up.
![]() 01/09/2014 at 12:48 |
|
Allow me to clarify my post. I didn't arrive at 10 to find a half empty lot and people leaving. I arrived around 7:30. Then around 10 everybody else started to leave. When I left at 10:30, there were maybe a quarter of the cars on the lot still.

Gotcha.
It's funny how I tell my friends to get there early and their reaction is usually "No way I'm getting up that early on a Saturday!"
Car people get it, though.

Yes, that's exactly how they did it (second page of the article)
"We're registered as a vehicle manufacturer in Canada," Marcel explained. "So we fit an EPA-compliant powertrain in the Scirocco and hope to sell it like a kit car. All the diagnostic and emissions systems operate, but we're still trying to establish which states will recognize it. We're talking to the specialty vehicle registration people now."
Here's the coolest part, though:
To date, #001 was sold to a customer in Texas

That's awesome! I'm really hoping there isn't any restricted access to the hotel (like what happened with the Omni last year where you needed a room card to get in). Otherwise, might gather up with a couple fellas and pitch in for a room just to witness the awesomeness.

Hehe, I was up at 5 to get there by 7:30. Hate living in the boonies.

Yeah, I realized that when I revised the thread after it was posted.
For some reason, I couldn't edit the thread and save it.

I really can't, every time I try, the post says it's being saved and I need to be patient, but I've waited hours on end and it just doesn't come through.
